    Rendez-vous in Haute-Saône

Once upon a time there was…

A patchwork land of green and blue; a region with many different facets, where authenticity and simplicity reign supreme. A landscape of wide open spaces with welcoming and friendly people.

The region can boast many ‘jewels’ and attractions that combine to create an image of great beauty:

    • the little Saône that flows through 130 km (~80 miles) of landscape
    • the world-famous Chapel of Notre-Dame du Haut at Ronchamp, which welcomes more than 98,000 visitors a year
    • the La Rochère Crystal and Glass Works, where glass-workers can be seen at work in France’s oldest artistic glass factory, founded in 1475
    • The Albert and Félicie Demard Departmental Museum in Champlitte, located in a picturesque town close to the terraces of the Coteaux de Champlitte
    • The Plateau of the Thousand Ponds: a true geological marvel, rather like a smaller version of the Canadian forests, and the jewel in Haute-Saône’s crown

An extraordinary environment, at the foot of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park, where flora and fauna have been carefully preserved among lush vegetation: bleak moorland, countless ponds, peat-bogs, mountain-streams and brooks.

The historic town of Luxeuil-les-Bains has managed to maintain its tradition as a spa: part of the Chaîne Thermale du Soleil group, the spa can offer individually tailored revitalising sessions and is well-known for its treatments for the circulatory system and rheumatology.

And let’s not forget Pesmes, one of the 152 most beautiful villages of France, or Vesoul, a lively town and the administrative capital of Haute-Saône.
