    Miroir d'eau

    Miirror image.

Facing the Place de la Bourse between the Douane and Louis XVIII quays, the Miroir d'eau de Bordeaux (Reflecting Pool in Bordeaux) was inaugurated in late July 2006 and reflects the lavish facades of the Palais de la Bourse and the Hôtel des Douanes. In addition to enhancing these masterpieces of eighteenth century European architecture, the Reflecting Pool also contributes a sense of coolness and peace to the quays.

But this is not merely an ornamental pond - the granite slab of 130m x 42m covered with 2cm of water is the subject of a computer controlled design that alternates between a mist and water game features. Come an enjoy the experience!
